Cloud services
Cloud infrastructure gets sold as a cost saving and often turns into an unexplainable bill and a deploy process everyone is frightened of. We build the version you can reason about: defined in code, cheap to change, and understood by more than one person.
What it covers
AWS, Azure and GCP. Infrastructure as code, CI/CD that runs on every commit, monitoring that pages the right person, and a cost line you can explain to your CFO.
- Cloud architecture and migration
- Infrastructure as code
- CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring, backup and cost control
How we approach it
- Infrastructure as code, or it didn't happen
- Anything clicked together in a web console is undocumented and unreproducible. Your environment lives in version control, so it can be reviewed, rebuilt and rolled back like any other change.
- Right-sized for the company you are
- Most businesses do not need a multi-region Kubernetes estate, and paying for one buys complexity rather than reliability. We build to the scale you're at, with a clear path to the next one when you get there.
- Monitoring that means something
- Alerts tied to things your customers would actually notice, routed to a person who can act. An alarm nobody responds to is worse than no alarm at all — it teaches the team to ignore the channel.
Where we differ
Why bring this to us rather than anyone else.
- We optimise your bill, including against ourselves
- Cloud spend quietly grows through idle resources and oversized instances. We treat the invoice as something we're accountable for and explain each line — even where the honest advice reduces the work we're billing for.
- No dependence on us to deploy
- Your team should be able to ship without booking our time. We hand over a pipeline and documentation designed for that, and we consider it a failure if you still need us for routine releases.
- Portable by default
- We use managed services where they earn their keep, but avoid designs that would take a year to unpick if you ever needed to move. Being able to leave is what keeps a vendor relationship honest — ours included.
When to call us
You probably need this if…
- Deploys happen out of hours because everyone's afraid of them
- The cloud bill goes up every month and nobody can explain the increase
- One person is the only one who knows how the environment fits together
- You're on physical servers and the hardware refresh is coming
Questions
- AWS, Azure or GCP?
- Whichever fits your team, your existing licences and your compliance requirements. All three are capable; the deciding factor is usually what your people already know and what your enterprise agreements cover.
- Can you migrate us without downtime?
- Usually with very little, by running old and new in parallel and cutting over once the new path is proven. Where a genuine outage window is unavoidable, we tell you up front rather than discovering it on the night.
